Body

Metra is reminding customers that as of June 1, it will no longer accept One-Way and 10-Ride tickets that have expired since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

Metra extended the validity periods of One-Way and 10-Ride tickets several times during the pandemic, understanding that many customers bought tickets but could not use them due to work-from-home orders and office closings. The most recent extension was to June 1, but that deadline will not be extended.

Paper One-Way and 10-Ride tickets with expiration dates between March 2020 and June 1, 2022, will be accepted for travel up to and including June 1. If you have Ventra One-Way and 10-Ride mobile tickets with expiration dates between March 2020 and June 1, 2022, please contact covid19ticketinfo@metrarr.com to extend them. Extensions will not be made after June 1.

The $6 and $10 Day Passes, which remain Metra’s most affordable, flexible and popular ticket options, were not included in the extension because those tickets were not available before the pandemic and have always been sold with a seven-day expiration period.
