Motorists are advised to avoid Peterson Avenue near Ridge and Ravenswood avenues Saturday night, June 24 due to planned work on the railroad bridge above the roadway.
Lanes will be reduced on Peterson at the bridge beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24 through 8 a.m. Sunday, June 25, while the contractor overseeing Metra’s Peterson/Ridge Station project installs structural steel beams on the east side of the Peterson Avenue bridge. At some point during the overnight work, all lanes will be closed to traffic. The roadway is expected to reopen to traffic by 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
Motorists are advised to avoid this location after 5 p.m. Saturday and use Clark Street, Devon Avenue and Western Avenue to route around the closure. Detour signs will be posted.
